The Economic Impact of Halloween
NJPRO is delighted to share with you the 2015 economic impact of Halloween.
How many Americans like to trick-or-treat, attend costume parties or dress up their pets? More than 157 million American shoppers will celebrate Halloween this year spending approximately $6.9 billion dollars on decorations, candies and costumes.
The state of New Jersey contributes to the economic impact of Halloween. For 75 years, our state has been home to M&M’s Mars manufacturing company, which produces nearly half of all the M&M’s that are sold in the nation. In 2013, Cape May County ranked 4th highest in the US for concentration of employment in the confectionary manufacturing industry. At the same time, Bergen and Union Counties ranked 9th and 11th highest in the country for concentration of employment in the formal wear and costume rental industry.
