New Jersey's women state
Senators-Diane Allen, Martha Bark, Barbara Buono, Nia Gill and Shirley
Turner-were honored February 4 at a Trenton reception by the New
Jersey Policy Research Organization Foundation (NJPRO) and the Women
Business Leaders Network (WBLN), both affiliates of NJBIA.
Governor James E. McGreevey
was among 160 people attending the program, entitled Five and Counting:
an Event Honoring the Women of the New Jersey Senate. NJPRO Foundation
Trustee Steve Kalafer and WBLN Member Libby Vinson spoke during
the program. Event Chair Charlene Brown of AT&T hosted the event
and Assemblywoman Bonnie Watson-Coleman served as master of ceremonies.
"This is an opportunity
for New Jersey's women business leaders to express our appreciation
and our thanks to New Jersey's women political leaders in the state
Senate," Brown said "These five women have demonstrated
leadership, achievement, intelligence and determination in their
public service. They deserve the recognition and thanks of all New
Jersey residents."
