Sara
Bluhm is executive director and treasurer of the New Jersey Policy
Research Organization and
Assistant Vice President of Energy & Federal Affairs for the New Jersey Business & Industry Association. Ms. Bluhm
has done extensive research on women and politics with an emphasis
on leadership development. Currently she is representing the Association
on energy, technology and women in business issues.
Bluhm graduated
from Douglass College of Rutgers University with a B.A. in Political
Science and Women’s Studies and also holds a Masters of Public
Affairs and Politics degree from the Bloustein School of Rutgers
University. She completed a certificate in Executive Management from the University of Pennsylvania. Ms. Bluhm is a graduate of the Institute for Women’s
Leadership, where she was a scholar for two years specializing on
women’s political leadership. She was also a Rutgers University
Research Fellow where she assisted in the development of a study
of generations of women and their political views being influenced
by higher education.
In addition
to her current responsibilities, Bluhm has represented the Association
on labor and environmental issues. She co-authored and edited the
NJBIA Environmental Compliance Digest, which provides a comprehensive
overview of permits required by the NJDEP.
Bluhm was a
member of the Camden County Council of Girl Scouts (CCCGS) Board
of Directors, Research Assistant for the NEW Leadership Program
at the Center for Women and Politics, and PLEN associate at the
Alice Paul Institute.
